Zagreb will be the capital of good wines and good food during the fourth edition of the Zagreb Wine Gourmet Festival, the most prestigious wine and gourmet event in Croatia. The Festival, recommended by Decanter UK, kicks off on the 25 and goes on the 26 February, in the impressive venue of the new Museum of Contemporary Art.

The two days exhibition of oenology and gastronomy will present over 500 top class wines, mostly from Croatia, but also from Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Bosnia and Hercegovina, France, Spain and South Africa. The wine makers themselves will guide you through the rich variety of their selected wines. You will have the unique opportunity to taste all of them, as well as the delicious food prepared by the best Croatian and international chefs participating in the cooking shows. Coming from Sweden, Brasil, Italy, France, Slovenia, Austria and Croatia the chefs (some of them with a Michelin star), will introduce you to some of the world's emerging cuisines.

Special workshops, lectures and wine tastings will be part oft the two days programme. Among the participants of the Festival there are Nicolas Joly, the famous French winegrower known as the father of the biodynamie, Sarah Kemp, the Editor of Decanter UK and Christelle Guibert, the Tasting Director of the same magazine, Ryan and Gabriella Opaz, the founders of Catavino, Peter Moser, the Editor of Falstaff, Joseph Schuller, MW, the President of the Institute of Masters of Wine and many others.

A gala dinner with 6 courses and 6 wines, prepared by 6 different chefs will open the Festival on February 24. The exhibition itself opens at 10.30 on Friday, February 25.   

The ZAGREB WINE GOURMET FESTIVAL is organised by Laniva Ltd., under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, the City of Zagreb, the Zagreb Tourist Board, while the media sponsorship/coverage is ensured by EPH – the largest media group in Croatia.
